The Custom Shop has recreated the 1962 Precision Bass of Pino Palladino, a session bassist who has earned the trust of top artists such as Jeff Beck, The Who, Eric Clapton, Simon & Garfunkel, D'Angelo, and John Mayer.
This model was developed based on the specifications of the PB that Pino Palladino loves, and features a lightweight alder body finished in Fiesta Red over Desert Sand, a strong and thick quartersawn maple neck, a rounded rosewood fingerboard, original pickups developed for this model, and a string setup with Thomastik JF344 flatwound strings that Pino loves. Unlike a copy model that simply reproduces the specifications of the artist's instrument, the true appeal of this model is that it reproduces the rich resonance and sound of the instrument.
