This is the ultimate all original early production Pre-CBS Precision Bass w/a “Slab” Rosewood neck w/all early features in untouched original condition, it has its original cool faded Olympic White finish over a very lightweight Alder body, these 1st issue Fender Slab Necks are getting scarce & this one is dated 9/60, it’s sporting a very low serial # (52XXX) stamped on its 4-bolt neck plate, its original Tortoiseshell Nitro pickgard has that luscious color used only in 1959-1960 w/1 tiny piece missing yet still retains its aluminum underside shield, its split Pickup is super smooth w/that quintessential “Jamerson” funk tone !, its pot date codes are from the 19th week of 1960, its so cool from its nickel tuners to its threaded saddle bridge, its all original in all respects & still retains its bridge & pickup covers along with every single screw from new, this is perhaps 1 of Leo’s earliest known “Slab Rosewood” Custom Color P Bass & has a gorgeous patina for a 62 year old original, it plays & feels incredible, other than having a few dings & a large area of buckle wear in its back, its 1 of the best & most desirable examples on Earth, she comes complete w/its original beat up Brown/Orange lined Hard Case.
