This is one hell of a guitar… This is a STUNNING original 1955 2 tone sunburst Fender Stratocaster + OHSC that is 100% original apart from a perfect body only refin by RS Guitarworks and maybe a refret. It is a beautiful and simply stunning example - I have had a look around and I do not think you will find a better body only refin for sale at the moment. It even has a really nicely figured neck.
It has a beautiful one piece ash body with some amazing grain pattern, just like the best of the early ’54 ’55 series Strats. Neck was not touched and it was just the body that had a very expensive and totally correct looking nitro refinish. RS Guitarworks really got the colour spot on and has aged it to match the ageing on the neck. We think this is so good, give it 10 years of natural UV exposure so it blacklights properly and you will have a REALLY hard time to tell this from an original. It is that good and we recently sold a near mint all original 1956 Strat so have been in a good position to judge this...
Included is the original hard case with plus an original strap, lead, bridge cover and trem arm and some very old Fender strings.
Neck date is the classic Tadeo Gomez 2-55, body date is 3-55 and all pots date to week 33 of 1955. The pickguard is cracked in a couple of places (see pictures) and has the very end of the lower tip missing. Original bakerlite is is excellent condition with just a few harline cracks around the pickup covers. Guitar is woth a fortune in spares alone but I cannot bear to part out such a nice guitar so grab it while you can!
VERY RARE to see an original 1955 Strat in this superb near original condition It plays well and sounds brilliant and I am sure the new owner will not be dissapointed
