Fender / Stratocaster / 1956 / 2-tone Sunburst / Guitar
1956 Fender Stratocaster - 2-tone Sunburst incl. orig. Fender Tweed case
Beautiful 1956 Fender Stratocaster in all original and very good condition. This is one of the last ash-body Strats in Sunburst, Fender switched to alder in 1956 because of cost savings - with alder they needed to use less laquer. We bought this guitar from relatives of the original owner who played the guitar for many decades so the ultra thin 50s lacquer shows some honest play wear but over all the guitar is in absolutely great condition. He once had a B-Bender (included in the case) installed that was mounted on the top but the holes have been dowelled. The frets have been professionally changed for a little bigger size so the guitar plays great for today's playing techniques. The electronics is all original, the original CRL 3-way switch has never been changed, the 3x Stackpole pots are stamped 304.6.33 (33rd week 56) and the three "black-bottom" singlecoil pickups have readings of N=6,56K, M=6,51K and B=6,15K and sound just great! All bakelite parts are original, crack-free and in super condition. The big soft-V-shaped 1-piece maple-neck is dated 6/56 and the body-date is written 6/56 in the tremolo-cavity. Lightweight with only 3,39Kg. Incl. original Tweed case with red plush lining.
