This is a really nice and rare to see item, especially in over here in the UK - This has been my own personal Strat for the last 12 years and it plays, feels and sounds GREAT - that’s why I have kept it so long. It is a LOVELY original (not a reissue) 1957 Fender Stratocaster with original hard case it is a superb sounding guitar and has just a few changes which make it affordable...
It is all original with the following exceptions - it has had other pickups on at some point and previous owner was a Hendrix fan so he reversed the orientation of the new pickups so the pole pieces were staggered like Hendrix played (LH on a RH guitar). To achieve this he had to remove a small bit of wood from each pickup cavity - see pics. It has had a refret and it looks like different tuners may have been on at some stage but no extra holes.
That is why it is not £20k + and is something a bit more affordable. All these mods are not seen of course unless you take off the pickguard! Everything else, including pickups and pots are all original 1957. Finish is 100% original everywhere and has great checking and vintage feel.
Hard case is original and correct for 1957, it is not in brilliant shape but still holds together.
This is THE classic Strat year and has that lovely soft V profile neck. It’s a beaut… and I love it!
