Fender / Stratocaster / 1959 / Sunburst / Guitar

1959 Fender Stratocaster refin 3-tone sunburst for sale

This guitar is in good condition, rating at 6 out of 10. It was made in the USA and weighs approximately 3.44kg (about 7.58lbs). The neck is pencil-dated as "4-59," while the pickup cavity bears a pencil date of "12-58." There are initials "RMB" found in the electronics cavity.

The guitar has been refinished, possibly with an overspray over the original finish, although it is challenging to determine with certainty. There are numerous small black dots in the finish resulting from previous touch-up attempts. It features original Kluson Single Line tuners with "D169400 PATENT NO" stamped underneath. The instrument has been refretted, exhibiting minimal fret wear.

Equipped with three black bottom pickups, bridge 6,1kOhm (rewound by pickup guru Johan Lundgren), middle 5,9kOhm and neck 6,0kOhm with spliced cable. Interestingly, it still retains the original 0.1 uF ZNW1P1 "phonebook" capacitors commonly found in 1950s Strats and Teles.

The guitar has a replaced modern 5-way switch (51992 1020 Switchcraft), and all pots have been replaced with CTS pots dated from the 20th week of 2010. It features a new bone nut and a single string tree.  A lot of original parts are in the case including 2 pots (one Stackpole 304 potentiometer which is dated 1st week of 1959 and one Centralab 134 potentiometer dated 8th week of 1959), the 3-way Switchcraft switch with brown center wheel and 3 patent numbers (typical 1953-1962), the bridge cover, the output jack
