All original, 1959, first year of the rosewood board, Fender Stratocaster in nicely played condition complete with original brown tolex case.
Everything is original, one saddle has less wear than the others, not sure why but it is still totally correct for the year.
Lovely sunburst finish that you only see on 1959 and some 1960 Starts where the red part of the sunburst has almost completely faded leaving a near two tone, sunburst. Beautiful and unique for these years only...
All original electrics, pots, hardware even frets. Not sure what more I can say really. You can see the condition pretty clearly and you can see it has been played, it is not a closet queen but they say the best ones get played. This one is no exception!
Nice weight too at just 3.4Kg. Original brown case is in good shape but has one of the white end pipings hanging loose. Common to see and in fact my '61 in another listing has exactly the same problem!
Plays really well and sound totally classic. There is some wear on the frets, especially at the first few positions but it is still playable and has a good feel. All 3 original pickups with original windings are strong, loud, clear and evenly balanced.
Nice thick, first year slab fingerboard too that has not been shaved at all.
No neck date, which is what you would expect for 1959, body date of 10/59 and all 3 pots dated 20th week of 1959. Even serial number has a 59 in it: 42159 that's pretty cool...
