This is a wonderful example of Fender’s famous Stratocaster from early 1960. Its nice grainy Ash body has been refinished in a clear lacquer w/all paint left in its cavities remaining. Its body is dated 2/60 in its middle pickup cavity. The original Rosewood Neck is perfectly original & has no pencil date as usual for 1959. It’s still retains its very worn original frets yet still plays nicely. The spaghetti logo on its headstock is original w/the deletion of its Tremolo decal portion showing its an original Hard Tail Strat. It’s loaded w/a trio of original black bottom pickups mounted in its original Green’gard including its original covers, knobs & switch tip.. Her 3 pot codes date to the 48th week of 1959. It’s wearing a set of original Kluson single line tuners. Its last caretaker was James Wallander who purchased it for $500. at Terminal Music on 48th street in 1977. This Strat is worn in cool & James flipped out because of his luv of Rory Gallagher pre-dating Rory’s Reissue from Fender some 25 years later. James was also an Indy 500 fan ! She’s very good overall w/a great feel & playability. Other than its body refin…she’s all original in every respect. This Strat kicks ass fo-sho !! It comes complete w/its original matching beat up brown tolex hard case.
