Fender / Stratocaster / 1961 / 3-tone Sunburst / Guitar
Early 1961 Fender Stratocaster in 3-tone Sunburst finish in excellent condition and all origional. One of the last 1961 Stratocasters with the desired thicker rosewood "slab-board"! The guitar has some play-wear and a few dings, especially on the back. It has been professionally refretted with 6105 wire which makes it play like butter. It's got a great feeling neck with a fuller medium profile, not as thin as the earlier 59/60 profiles. The Hardtails really work well with the slab rosewood boards since they add more "balls" and low end to that typical twangy Hardtail tone. The guitar is pretty lightweight with only 3,17kg, the black bottom pickups have well balanced outputs of 5,56, 6,01 and 5,72K, the pot codes read 304.61.14 (14th week of 1961), the neck and body date is 5/61. Great example of the Slabboard Pre-CBS era with great playability and moster tone!
