Fender / Stratocaster / 1962 / Fiesta Red / Guitar

Here’s something we wish we could say we see everyday but unfortunately, we can’t… An original and NO, not a Selmer refin, 1962 Fender Stratocaster in outrageously gorgeous, original Fiesta Red custom colour finish.

A beautiful, original guitar with not a single solder joint disturbed, correct hardware, frets, lovely brown tolex case, ash tray bridge cover, strap and curly lead (also in Fiesta Red!). All three totally original pickups ring with classic, black bottom, pre-CBS, bell like loveliness and are all strong and perfectly balanced. In fact this is everything you want and expect, a classic vintage Strat to be. It probably does not get much better than this in 60’s Stratland.

Medium chunky C profile neck with just the perfect amount of moderate wear on the back of the neck to feel as comfortable as your favourite leather glove. Completely crack free, original green guard which has perfectly matched, aged plastic parts. There is not a thing out of place on this uber cool Strat.

Original fiesta red finish is factory sprayed over desert sand undercoat. It does have a few dings and dongs here and there and there has been some small local chip touch up with a pen that could be removed if desired but overall I would say this is an excellent condition guitar and a prime candidate to be the centre piece of a classic guitar collection. Original Fiesta Red finish Strats are rare this side of the pond as so many Selmer refins exist but this is NOT one of them!

Neck date is October 62, all three pots date to 42nd week of 62 and serial number, with a perfectly book matched neck plate, is 87383 which is mid late 1962. The number match on this guitar could not be more perfect and I am willing to bet that not a thing has been changed on this Strat from new.

This guitar represents to a lot of folks out there, a dream guitar and considering it is rare to find one as original as this one is, it may not hang around for too long. In fact we think it is one of the nicest Strats we have had for a while both in the playing, sounding department and without any doubt, in the eye candy department. Come down and try it out in our new showrooms…
