1963 Fender Stratocaster for sale. Heavily modified. 

A one-off very rare modification of a 1963 Fender Stratocaster from the early 90s.
The guitar neck and body are original.

The first modification was made by the English legendary luthier Gordon Whitham ( GordonSmith guitars, Ian Gillan Band, Ritchie Blackmore, Magnum, Peter Haycock...etc).
Gordon modified the body by placing all over the guitar a thin veneer of quilted maple with the exemption of the upper contour at the back. Then he finished the guitar with a cherry-burst transparent thin nitro for excellent resonance. See the picture of the upper contour with the old alder grain pattern. He also made a wooden pickguard from the same veneer as it is shown in the pictures ( front and back side).
He refretted the fretboard with the same medium - tall size frets as used by Jeff Beck. Amazing job!!!

The neck is made of light flame maple, which shows at the back and at both sides of the headstock. This is very rare for a 1963 strat! The back of the neck is a state-of-the-art oil finish. Extremely fast with a superior feeling!!!

Then the second modification was made by Don Grosh of Grosh Guitars. A master of the modern vintage Stratocasters.

Don replaced the tuners with his vintage Kluson locking tuners for extra tone and stability.

Also, he added his Gotoh modified vintage bridge and he made another pickguard with his electronics on it. The pickups are the Fralin Blues special and one of the tone controls is Don Gosh's blend circuit, which blends the bridge pickup and the neck pickup at any desirable amount, thus creating a huge variety of strat tones.
The pickup selector is a 5-way switch.

Hence this guitar is a perfect combination of the actual original woods of a 1963 Fender strat with all the modern modifications made by two legendary luthiers.
The guitar sounds and plays like a dream.
An extremely rare piece for collectors or players.
