Fender / Stratocaster / 1963 / Lake Placid Blue / Guitar

1963 Fender Stratocaster, lake placid blue. Made in USA, serial number L15604. This guitar has had quite the life, but most importantly, it was played! The body was refinished in custom color lake placid blue at least 46 years ago. If the finish had the correct white or silver instead of the grey primer basecoat, it would would pass as original. The guitar went through the 'classic' 80s period in which it got a Roland synth pickup, locking nut and modern tuners. The guitar retains the original pickups (one has leads resoldered and was most likely rewound), tremolo steel block, tremolo claw, serial number plate and screws, input jack cup, knobs and switch and a few scews. The pots are vintage taper CTS, the tone cap is a green chicklet as seen on later 60s Strats. The bridge saddles are high end Pat.Pend. repros. The pickguard is a high end thick celluloid 'green guard' with the wide bevel edge. The guitar has just been refretted and needs nothing - yes in you were wondering, it does sound as good as it looks! Comes with a brown tolex Fender hardshell case. Weighs only 3.25kg!
