Fender / Stratocaster / 1963 / Olympic White Body Refin FLAME Neck / Guitar
Behold, a stunning 1963 Fender Stratocaster, refinished in Olympic White and with possibly the flamiest neck we've ever seen...
This Guitar has been beautifully refinished in Olympic White. We're not sure what the original colour would have been, but this white suits it very well and it has been very tastefully aged. In fact it doesn't look too dissimilar to the original '64 Olympic White korina Strat we have in at the moment...
The body does have some evidence or previous routing around the pickup channels but this has been extremely well filled in and hidden by the current finish.
The neck finish is original, the frets are correct and have plenty of life left. The fretboard is in decent shape, with some minor diveting around the first few frets. The hardware is all correct and shows signs of corrosion but all of it works really well. The real star of the show here is the flame, its easily the most spectacularly flamed neck we've seen in ages, and just looks absolutely killer against the rosewood board and white body.
The plastics are correct and as you'd expect show signs of wear. The pickguard is also correct and has shrunk a little, and has yellowed quite a bit over time, no doubt from a few years of smokey bars. This, contrasts well on the Olympic White body we think.
Electronically all is all correct with 1963 pots (15th week) though a couple of the the solder joints have been disturbed as you would expect for a refin.
The guitar comes with a correct 1963 white tolex hardshell case.
This guitar does what you'd expect an early 60's Strat to do. The pickups provide a warm tone across all three positions that run the gamut from full to cutting without getting thin.
This is a great guitar thats been sympathetically refinished to a very high standard that retained all the important features to make it not only a great instrument but a worthy investment for the tone-hound looking for that illusive sound...
