APPEARS TO BE SOLD MONDAY 12/18. If not i will take it off hold. You may be asking yourself .... "self" ... why is this ORIGINAL finish 1964 Stratocaster so much less than the others and not much more than a refin?. This guitar under the guard is perfect, all solder joints, parts orig (look at how clean the pots and linen wires are 1376422 ... 22nd week.) FEATHER weighs in at 7 lbs 1-2 oz's!!! The only thing changed there is a splice in the bass pup eads so we're assuming 1 rewind since it is the orig pick up. The windings look orig so he may have jut tried out another pick up but we're calling it a rewind just in case. Aside from a few newer pick guard screws and an absolutely amazing refret ... that's it!!! Look closely at the matching initials of GB on the piece of lacquered over tape (bass route), and the same initials under the finish above the middle route. Dark Brazilian rosewood fingerboard(!!) clay dots uber clean green guard.... Well here is the scoop. I purchased the guitar from the 2nd owner who has had it since 1969. He knew of the 1st owner and believed the guitar to be ALL original. But here is the thing ... it bares a neck date of December 63 and has some parts never unsoldered that are as late as summer of 64. While we know there were major date discrepancies in Fender parts it seems a little long to say for sure either way BUT WHAT WE DO KNOW ... is the neck ONLY was factory refin'd somewhere between 64 and 67 because it is factory work and the decal as well. Unlike when you had a whole guitar refin;d at Fender there is no stamped # because they did not need to match it to the orig owner's body on the way out the door. So possibly ... likely an earlier neck but factory redone for sure.But here is the thing ... when you think about it it now has the era correct logo and the only time anyone would ever know is when you buy it for LESS and as a result will sell it for less than top market too because until you pull the neck ... there is no visible way to tell it's not all orig. Comes with an insanely clean non logo trans case. So if you're looking for a GREAT LIGHT Pre CBS strat for a GREAT price ... this is it.You may be asking yourself .... Payment: PayPal, Cash, Personal Check, Money Order/Cashier's check, Wire transfers or Western Union. Pay Pal, Credit Cards through Pay Pal only, and wire transfers are offered as a convenience for far away buyers and all extra expenses are the customer's responsibilty. Theres not enough profit in Vintage guitars to pay out 4% additional. Any time that a deposit is taken for any special arrangements or "holds" it is non refundable. To have these rules work in your favor all transactions need to be completed or deposited on w/in 5 days.
Shipping: Buyer pays shipping. Shipping will be determined on a case by case basis so as to include size, weight, distance, insured amount and method requested. Shipping is paid by customer both ways on any returns.
Returns: All parties buying through the mail or offsite are allowed a 24 hour approval/inspection period on ALL guitars, unless discussed otherwise, to make sure they are keeping their purchase (but not amps to keep shipping delicate amps back and forth to a minimum and not on parts either ... too many guys doing "switcharoo's" or wrecking them trying to install them and then trying to send them back ... sorry ... you have to reap the behavior of so many others). Buyer pays shipping. Payments must be received within 5 working days of anything placed on HOLD. When you receive the guitar your 24 hour return includes 1 day to receive it and approve or not and you must contact me. Don't just put it in the mail ..... and 2 extra days (72 hours total time) to resend it and I require a tracking number back from the customer the day of shipping and gladly supply the same to customer upon request and orig sale. I do strictly adhere to these rules. I don't mean to sound tough here but you would be amazed at the liberties taken in recent past! Thanks for your understanding and adherence. ALL Outside the USA sales are final due to extended "visits" through customs and some countries laxed attitude about shipping on time.
