This one comes from the personal stash...1965 Fender Stratocaster - ONE OWNER - old refin Sparkle Black - 100% BONE STOCK AND ORIGINAL PARTS AND ELECTRONICS - comes with original Fender hardshell case, serial number L948XX. This Strat came from the original owner - was originally LAKE PLACID BLUE, but the owner had it refinned in Sparkle Black long ago after the LPB did its thing and turned greenish. Every single thing about this Strat, other than the refin, was totally left alone - right down to the original 3 way switch. She has a large 65 neck, dark Brazilian rosewood board, small headstock with transition logo. The back of the neck was refinned in clear also, but the front of the headstock was totally left alone, all decals are 100%. Inside the neck pocket you can see a small trace of the original Lake Placid Blue finish (!). She is lightweight, and has a HUGE HUGE SOUND. These 65 pickups are some of the best - feels like almost humbucker-like output - very strong and warm. For Strat lovers who prefer that 65 'man's neck' - this is your baby. AND - there is some really nice FLAME to this MAPLE NECK! There is light wear to the black finish - but just superficial scratches and a handful of light dings. She actually looks really cool kind of badass classy in this Sparkle Black - the Sparkles are very light, very subtle, almost art deco looking. Even comes with the original back plate! It's not often that one of these comes along from the first person who bought it - 47 years ago - but here it is. Very hard to let it go...at our KY store.
