Here's a nice and fairly rare custom colour, Hendrix era Fender Stratocaster from mid 1969 in one of Hendrix's favourite colours - black.
It is in very nice condition and is a good, mainly original guitar. The trem arm is a replacement, maybe the back cover but that's about it! All the important stuff is all there and as it left the factory in mid late 1969.
All original custom colour finish in very nice condition with just a few dings here and there, mainly on the edges and some mild buckle rash on the back. Neck feels great and is ever so slightly on the chunky side for this year. All three original pickups with original windings sound brilliant and evenly balanced.
All hardware is original with the exception of the items noted and original frets are in very nice condition with some good life still left on them. Neck is slightly chunky C shape. Weight is a very nice 3.5 Kg and it also has the original case which is in good shape.
Serial number is 257518, neck date is MAY 1969, all 3 pickups are dated 31st week of 1969 and all pots are dated 18th week of 1966. Pickguard is pearled back and typical of 1969 wiring is a mix of cloth and plastic, mainly plastic.
