This is 1 of the coolest early 80’s Strats known as the “Dan Smith” era that was completed in 1981. This was a regular occurrence whilst Fender had an abundance of necks made in the late 70’s that wound up on guitars finished as late as 1982 but this has all of the cool vintage features. Its got an Alder body w/a clean & original red/brown 3-tone Sunburst finish w/very little wear. Its maple neck has the 1st small headstocks prior to 1982’s Vintage Reissue series yet has a leftover 1979 serial # on its headstock & in its neck pocket…go figure. Its super flat feeling & is dated to 1981/2 but quite hard to read & has only slight play time. Its got a clean White pickgard loaded w/3 original pickups & pots. Featherweight ! It’s truly Near Mint overall & comes w/its matching Owners manual & key in its original Black Molded hard case.
