Fender / Stratocaster Custom Colour / 1966 / Black / Guitar
Not something you see that many of... An all original factory custom colour BLACK 1966 Fender Stratocaster in excellent shape with original hard case, some tags and case candy etc.
This was only recently purchased from the second owner who has owned if for 15 years before directly purchasing it from a Mr Kevin Lewis of Rhode Island, the original owner and who's name is still on the guarantee card with this guitar's serial number.
All original electrics, hardware and finish with no touch ups or re-spray. Original trem arm, bridge cover and original factory large frets in great shape. Also included is the aforementioned guarantee card, a curly lead, an original 1966 price list and something I rarely see - and original 1966 Fender Service Manual!!! it tells you all about how to set up your Strat Tele or Jag... Cool.
Condition wise, it is quite excellent, it has been played, there is some checking here and there plus some dings in places, mainly around the edges which you can see in the pictures but there is no big wear spots and very little in the way of buckle rash. Overall I would say it is excellent for a played, mid/late 60's Strat.
All 3 original pickups on original windings sound killer. Sometimes you can't beat a good grey bottom mid-60's Strat pickup and all of these are no exceptions to this. Good life is still present on the original frets and it has a very nice action. Original case is in good shape too and everything works as it should.
All pickups are dated 12/66 neck date is May '66, pots are 35th week of '66, serial number is 194190 and it was sold to Mr Lewis on March 1st 1967.
What more can I say...? A VERY cool Strat in just about every way in probably THE coolest Custom Colour out there...
