No this isn't a battered and bruised old Fender Stratocaster, in fact it is practically new! Note the Note on the Masterbuild worksheet saying 'Ultimate relic without using a template - batter the Hell Outa' :) Made by Jason Smith, yes the son of... Dan! This guitar is fully after the original 1963 specs. You can try it in our shop if you like, and you will see that it truly is! Something about Jason Smith: As a 13-year-Fender-veteran and son of the legendary Fender R&D Dan Smith, Jason grew up on Fender. It's kind of his family, the Fender factory. Jason met all kind of world famous rock artist, by his father's work at the Fender factory. Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Yngwie Malmsteen and many more. Before Jason was in his teens, he was going to see ZZ top, Pink Floys and many more world-famous bands. Rock music and fender is simply in his DNA. Jason Smith began building for Fender's Custom Shop in 1995. In 2006, Smith completed a 5-year apprenticeship under acclaimed senior master builder John English. Smith is an accomplished player who brings the Player's sensibility in the Custom Shop, in addition to his expertise as a Master Builder.
This guitar Features an lightweight alder body with heavy relic and relic nitrocellulose 3-tone sunburst finish, a maple neck with rosewood fingerboard, 9,5" radius, Dunlop 6105 Medium Jumbo Frets, Handwound John Cruz limited edition pickups, controlled by a 5 way switch and vintage style potentiometers. This guitar is completely in 1963 style, it feels even like a 1963! Comes with a brown tolex vintage case, original from fender, and ofcourse all the Case Candy.
