Fender / Stratocaster Maple Neck / 1969 / Sunburst / Guitar
Here is something you definitely do not see every day. Probably the only one for sale right now and try finding another as original as this one is..
Very rare, maple cap neck, Fender Stratocaster in well played condition with a cool vibe that the Custom Shop boffins would love to replicate. This is a 1969 Fender Strat that has ended up looking like this because someone, just could not stop playing the thing and when you pick it up and plug it in, you will soon appreciate why this is.
It probably has a few stories to tell and has probably seen a few lively gigs but aside from a re-fret and a new nut it has survived with minimal interference.
Pickups are the original, classic grey bottom staggered poles dated 1969 that Hendrix seemed to get some interesting tones out of. Neck date is 1969 and all pots date to 1966. All solder appears to be original as does all the hardware including the pearled back, pickguard.
There are no extra routes anywhere and no other tuners have been fitted and amazingly, no extra string tree holes either. I do not know what it is, but virtually every maple cap Strat neck I get has had an extra string tree for some weird reason…
Sounds stunning, plays real well on the newer frets that are slightly larger than normal and is a very rare find indeed.
Included is an early tail logo period Fender black tolex case. There is no trem arm with it but I am sure I can find something before it ships to what will more than likely be one happy and very lucky new owner…
