Fender / Stu Hamm Urge Bass ** ON HOLD ** / 1991 / Green Metallic / Bass
Been a fan of Stu Hamm since I first saw his "Pop, Slap and Tap" video, which had me sitting in front of a VCR for weeks. I got some of it, couldn't play a bit of it and totally failed at the tapping part. Of course, that video was done with a Kubicki Ex- Factor and while I've owned several of those basses, I've always favored a small, slim, sleek neck and that's exactly where this early Urge bass jumps into the picture. The neck on this bass reminds me of those early, lightning- fast Ibanez Soundgear basses and it's so easy on the left hand, it's almost effortless to play. The 9- bolt Kubicki electronics give you a great choice of tones and I love the second active setting- full lows with a nice, crisp high edge on top. I also thought that the first year for these Urge basses was 1992, but this one's dated in 1991, so maybe it's either a really early example or just a special, Plutonian prototype. In any event, it's absolutely the cleanest first- run Urge on the market and you'll also notice that the package includes the original, two- tone hardshell case and case candy. We're sure you expect no less from us and we beat both the bushes and the Pygmies to acquire the best guitars and basses to be found anywhere. While there may be several of these basses available ay anytime, we feel ours is the most complete offering to be found and we'll back it up with the world- famous, iron- clad 'Elk guarantee of satisfaction. Now folks, you can't beat that with a stick, so please call or email with any questions or requests- it's November and that means all of the 'Elk secretaries and operators will be wearing really short Pilgrim skirts and buckskin stilettos...
