I bought this bass on dealer day at the Orlando Guitar show and after checking it out, I put it on a stand in our booth. I hadn't really noticed anything unusual until, by the time Saturday afternoon rolled around, I realized that this bass was getting a good amount of attention. As a matter of fact, it was getting a lot of attention and over the next day, I was gifted an audience by three guys that would actually play the bass.
The reason I say "gifted" is, these three cats could play and I mean really play. I've noticed over the years that the better a player is, the lower in volume they do their thing. If you've ever stepped into a Guitar Center, you know exactly what I mean. Well, these three guys all played at low volume and the experience was quite the pleasure. You know a guy is a badass when a crowd gathers around your booth and I think a good time was had by all.
The only thing I had to do to this bass was to put on a fresh set of strings and have our tech check it out. A coupe of minor tweaks and we were good to go. The bass is clean, having only a few pickguard swirls and light surface scratches on the body. We all know how a black gloss bass shows her scars and wrinkles. The original case is also very clean and includes the bass controls descriptions.
