Fender / Telecaster / 1955 / Blonde / Guitar
1955 white guard, lightweight (3.32 Kg) Fender Telecaster anyone?
Instantly recognisable and iconic, the blonde/white pickguard combination is always a head turner with this one being no exception. The body shows signs of over 60 years of use with the usual knocks and bumps though its kept its glossy finish and certainly looks the part.
The neck too is in good shape, worn as you’d expect which only adds to the overall look of the guitar. The factory frets have plenty of life left and the decal is strong.
Hardware shows signs of use but not extensive corrosion and everything works exactly as you would expect. The plastics are in good shape free of any cracking and are all correct for a 1955 white guard.
Guitar has been played and as you can see from the photos, there are the usual marks and dings you would expect from living a life that was definitely not under the bed but it has not been abused and there are no breaks or repairs anywhere.
Electronically all the components are correct though there has been some rewiring so that it works as a standard telecaster. The bridge pickup is probably among some of the last ‘54 flat pole piece style pickups to be fitted, as found on the earlier blackguard telecasters and sounds insanely good! In fact this is probably one of the best sounding Teles we have had here for a while and explains why its current owner has owned this for a fair old while.
The guitar comes with its correct tweed hardshell case which is also in excellent shape.
This guitar has a wonderfully lively tone with plenty of twang. The bridge pickup is raunchy with smooth top end as you’d expect from a pickup from the golden era. The neck pickup complements thing nicely offering a smooth tone. The soft V of the neck is very comfortable and the worn in feel is a joy to play.
This guitar oozes mojo and has sounds phenomenal. Don’t miss out, grab it before it gets away.
