Lovely, lightweight, original Telecaster from one of our favourite years - 1956. It has that classic medium chunky neck with a hint of 'V' that so many Tele players love (including us).
Finished in classic blonde, all original finish on both body and neck and original hardware and electrics. It has an original tweed case which is in good shape but does have two broken latches.
Neck was masterly sculptured in mid 1956 by Xavier Armandez the date mark being XA-6-56 - which in fact is exactly the same neck date as Clapton's 'Brownie' Strat so you know this is going to be a pretty decent feeling neck. Body date is 3/56, pots date to 41st week of 1955 and serial number is 11107.
It has had a refret with the correct vintage size fret wire and I was told the front of the guitar was buffed many years ago, this has now mostly worn away but under the right light you can still see a couple of shinier patches.
Guitar black lights perfectly and there are no finish touch ups, overspray or anything like that. All nail holes are free of paint and aside from one touch up on one of the tone caps, all solder is undisturbed.
Nice weight of just 3.3Kg and that lovely feeling neck make this a joy to play. Both pickups are balanced and responsive, with that sound you only get from 50's maple neck Tele's.
It has a nice, low action and plenty of life is left on the frets. If you are going to play it and I sincerely hop you do, I am sure you will not be disappointed...
As always, plenty of internal pics are available for those seriously interested.
