We don’t normally do refins but as soon as we saw this one we knew we had to make an exception. It is a  LOVELY original (not a reissue) 1957 Fender Telecaster with original tweed hard case that is 100% original and correct apart from a body only refinish by Fiesta Finishes USA, some very light clear overspray on the neck and a very good refret.

It is in very good condition - all hardware and electrics are original and correct and the guitar is probably worth a lot more in parts than I am asking here for it -especially with the superb original tweed case with the 1957 ‘Koylon’ label intact...

This is not your usual refin Tele with clobbered together parts, everything is original to this guitar - the body (with nail holes) neck, electrics, pots and all the hardware. The pickups sound amazing and despite the refin it still has some undisturbed solder on the pots and switch. Pots are all original and dated 45th week of 1956, serial number is -20503, body date is 8-57 and if you hold the neck at the right angle, in the right light you can make out the pencil markings on the end of the neck but not enough to ascertain the accurate neck date. I think I can see a 3-57 on there which would be about right.

While we are on the subject of the neck, it has had an old and thin clear overspray (original finsh is under there) at some point but it is the classic 1957 strong ‘V’ type profile which everyone likes and it is also one of the more nicely flamed maple Fender necks I have seen from this period. Headstock is original finish and decal is original too.

All hardware is in great condition, all original and correct. Guitar is a stunning player with the most amazing sounding 1957 pickups and you can see why 1957 was considered one of THE classic years for Fender. Case is original tweed and worth a bomb on it’s own. Plenty of life on the frets and weight is a mere 3.2Kg!!! No one is going to moan about that.

This is NOT just another refin, this is a the real deal that happens to have different paint from when it was made in 1957. This is THE classic Fender year and has that lovely classic neck and wonderful Tele pickup. It’s a beaut… and I love it! Guitar is priced well and I do not expct it to hang around for very long.
