This is an NICE original 1959 1960 Fender Telecaster which has had a body only refin in blonde but has an original neck finish and mostly original parts in excellent condition and a brilliant player at a reasonable price.
This was started in 1959 with no neck date, nice thick, gorgeous, dark slab Brazilian rosewood fingerboard, both pots date to 19th week of 1960 with an early 1960 serial number. It even has the correct late 1959 unique bridge with holes for both top loading and strings through body.
Original body has been refinished many times and is currently blonde. It has the correct routers hump, cavities, pin router tooling marks on the back and even very feint evidence of nail holes but no date is visible, if there is a date t has been obscured by the years of refinishes. I am more than happy to 100% guarantee the body’s authticity though.
Pickups are original, pots and switch are original, tuners are excellent repros and one cap has been replaced. Thats it!
Everyone who has seen and played this amazing 60’s Telecaster testifies to how superb it sounds and how great it plays and I am sure the new owner will not be disappointed.
Weight is a good 3.5Kg pickups are nicely balanced and it is still wired up in the original ‘woof tone’ mode that results in a very bassy sound from the neck pickup. This can easily be changed should you feel so inclined…
There is no case with this but it will be very well packed for shipping.
It is very rare to see 60’s Teles and compared to Strats, thre are hardly any about. The beauty about these arly slab models is the amazing hunk of Brazillian you get with them and this one is no exception - a few months later and you find the thickness starts to decrease..
Guitar is a fantastic player and has the unmistakable Tele bite that you would expect from a 60’s Tele.
