Fender / Telecaster / 1965 / Olympic White / Guitar
Here is a pretty rare 1965 spec early 1966 Fender Telecaster finished in original custom colour Olympic White with a rare, VERY early thick maple cap neck that still has the spaghetti logo.
Very rare to see Olympic White Tele's from this period and like the occasional '65 Strat you see in Olympic white, the clear coat has turned a nice yellow custard colour. All original finish with no touch ups and all original hardware, the only thing I can see that has been done is a good refret in slightly larger frets.
Taken in on a recent part exchange, this wonderful Tele plays really well with no chocking and this gorgeous and rare maple cap neck is quite chunky too. Seems just like the early slab boards, the early maple cap necks had quite a thick cap that got thinner as the years progressed.
Electrics too are original with just one touched up solder joint on one of the grounds. Neck date is December 1965, pots are dated 11th week of 1966 and serial number is late 65 so a true 65/6 transition this one with all the nice 65 features...
Included is the original ash tray cover and the original hard shell case.
A rare guitar which you will not see many of and a damm fine sounding and playing one too. This is very unlikely to loose money and is a pretty nice investment in every way.
