Here's one of my current favourites at the store. Not only is this crazy light (3.3Kg), it also has the most gorgeous figured neck I have ever seen and a lovely feeling, slim mid 60's neck that just feels... well perfect.

This is a late 1965 early 1966 build Fender Telecaster that has had a body only refinish in blonde nitro that is actually a pretty nice job. It has a replacement pick guard that again, looks authentic but has all original electrics and hardware (except pick guard).

Just take a look at the back of that neck, the figuring is insane! I have seen this before on a few 65/66 Tele's, my friend Richard Henry had one with similar figuring and my guess is Fender had a brief period of exotic maple in during '65/66 which luckily ended up on some of their guitars.

This is also probably the lightest Tele I have had weighing in at just 3.3Kg and to say it is a pure joy to play, is no under estimation...!

The body only has been refinished, the neck is 100% original. At one stage the body must have been sprayed, wait for it.... fluorescent Day-Glo Red Sparkle and whoever did the body spray was not really a consummate professional and traces of this paint can be seen on the switch, the pots the wiring and the neck heal. Luckily, none of this can be seen when the guitar is assembled and the body must have been bathed in paint stripper as there is hardly a trace of it on that.

Neck by contrast is 100% original with original frets, tuners etc. The gold transitional logo has mostly worn away but you can still make out the important bits.

Buy this and I guarantee you will not be disappointed. It is one of the finest playing and sounding transitional Tele's I have had and you will have to prise it off me...!
