Fender / Telecaster / 1968 / Blonde / Guitar

This is another (I sold a similair one last week) very nice original early 1968 Fender Telecaster, maple cap neck, complete with original hard case with some nice birds eye maple figuring in excellent condition and sounds superb.
Everything is original except maybe one bridge saddle but this was the exact period Fender changed over from threaded saddles to round steel saddles and as Fender were known for not wasting anything, it is concevable that it left the factory like this. It has the original pearloid back, pickguard but it looks as if someone tried to glue part of it down for some reason then when that didn’t work, painted the underside black, probably to cover the glue residue - See pictures. That is my theory anyhow, afraid I cannot ask the last owner for 25 years as he passed away.
It has the desirable maple cap neck and that feels superb. It plays brilliantly, there is no choking when strings are bent, action is nice and low, neck perfectly straight with no shims and the 2 pickups are very strong, balanced and classic 60’s Tele sound. Frets are worn at the root chord positions but in my opinion still playable. This particular neck has some lovely birds eye maple figuring on it which is rare to see in 1968 and does look really cool.
The weight is an easy, 3.5Kg and the serial number is 251126. All pots date to 1966 which is normal for ‘68 Teles and the neck date is Febuary 1968.
This is a very nice example that plays well and sounds classic. Please have a look at the many photos from all angles.
