This is an NICE original 1968 Fender Telecaster, maple cap neck which has had a body only refin in black in good condition and a brilliant player at a reasonable price.
Maple cap neck is lovely and has the original finish, logo, tuners etc. It has been re-fretted with large frets and the nut was replaced at the same time. Original body has had an old refinish in black that has various dings on it. Pickups are original and pots too which date to late ’65 and early ’66 - this is usual to see on ’68 Teles. Rest of hardware looks original to me but I am not sure about the pick guard, it is old, it has the pearloid back but I do not think it is original o this guitar.
It has the desirable maple cap neck and that feels superb. It plays very nicely and has the classic 60’s Tele twang.
The weight is an easy, 3.5Kg and the serial number is 251298 neck date is May 1968, the switch tip is not original and there is no case but it will be very well packed for shipping.
This is an excellent way to get in to maple cap neck Tele’s at a pretty reasonable price...
