Fender / Telecaster / 1968 / Olympic White Blonde / Guitar
This is an ASTOUNDING original 1968 Fender Telecaster, maple cap neck, complete with original hard case, manual and bridge cover in excellent condition and allegedly has just the 2 owners, the last one being a Nashville session guitarist for the last 25 years.
Everything is 100% original except a refret which is was a very good job. It is original finish, hardware and even has undisturbed solder joints. As it has been a working guitar, there are a few small wear spots here and there that do give it some serious mojo. You can almost tell by the wear pattern on the neck the formr ower was quite an acomplished guitarist!
It has the desirable maple cap neck and that feels superb. It plays brilliantly, there is no choking when strings are bent, action is nice and low, neck perfectly straight with no shims and the 2 pickups are very strong, balanced and classic 60’s Tele sound.
The weight is an easy, 3.3Kg and the serial number is 241382 which matches the inspection stamps on the original manual. All pots date to 1966 which is normal for ‘68 Teles and the neck date is August 1968. The bridge cover has been engraved with the names of presumably, the original owners.
Out of the 10 or so I have seen in the last few years, this is definitely one of the nicest in terms of feel, playability and sound. I am sure the new owner will not be dissapointed with this lovely guitar. Please have a look at the many photos from all angles.
