This is one of the coolest Tele models ever produced. The 1st “Custom” models started to be produced in May 1959. This early 70’s example of the beautiful “Bound Body” Tele has tons of tone & sustain. Its got an Alder body w/a really rich original 3-tone Sunburst finish w/a nice patina. Its Maple neck is dated to August 1971 w/only slight play time. Its got a large transition logo, a single string tree & “F” tuners from new & she’s fabulous looking. Frets are original. Its got a nice White pickgard that’s got a cool aged fade & she’s loaded w/2 original pickups w/plastic wrapped wire & pots dated to the 36th week of 1966. Still sporting its original bridge saddles, this bad boy is a 100% original & untouched piece of history. She’s featherweight & has everything you’d want tone wise. These Alder Bodied Maple Necks have a very unique tone quality. 1971 was a very rare year for Tele Customs. Only 6 lbs. 14 oz. If you’d ever wanted a real fabulous Tele Custom, this may be your ticket. It’s truly exceptional overall & comes w/an original hard case.
