This is a very nice find, this is a lovely and RARE superb 100% original 1966 Fender Telecaster, transitional model, complete with original hard case finished in OLYMPIC WHITE in superb condition and sounding amazing. What’s more it is probably the lightest Tele I have had at just 3.2Kg!!!
Guitar is 100% original apart from it has been converted to modern wiring setup, this is a good thing as it actually makes the neck pickup usable. 1966 pots 1966 MAY neck date on lovely and desirable, beautiful rosewood fingerboard with even some nice birds eye figuring on the back of the neck - guitar is just superb. Aside from a small amount of fingerboard wear, some corrosion on the metal parts and a few small body dings it would be near mint. Case is good too and unlike most cases from this era it still has the logo intact.
Super light alder (not ash as it’s an opaque custom colour) body makes this a real pleasure to play, especially for extended periods and finding one this light is so rare, in fact I do think it is the lightest one I have had and pretty much one of the best sounding mid 60’s Teles too. Even the transistional log is mostly intact too which is also a rare thing from this period.
Everything is original and this is a great investment at a reasonable price. Custom Colour 60’s Teles are pretty rare as I am sure you are aware and to see one as nice as this is a good day…!

Guitar does play real well on it’s original frets with a nice low action and a real nice balanced bite for the two original pickups.
