Fender / Tremolux Tweed / 1960 / Tweed / Amp
Probably one of the most original and finest sounding tweed Fender Tremolux amps out there. Aside from the 3 pin AC cord I am struggling to find anything that has been replaced on the brilliant sounding, classic Fender tweed...
Even the smoothing caps are the brown Astron type and work just fine. The tubes appear original including the big bottle 5U4GA rectifier tube and the original Jensen speaker dated 34th week of 1959 is in very good shape.
Tube chart date is May/June 1960, all transformers/chokes have date codes of either late 1959 or early-mid 1960.
Original tweed is in excellent shape for a 57 year old Fender amp and it even has it's original handle although there is a tear in it and I wouldn't risk carrying the amp by this handle for long periods.
Sound wise it is BIG, beefy and creamy. It has that lovely tweed break up and distortion everyone so loves, as well as classic Fender clean tones at lower volumes.
The trem is in a class of it's own and if you are looking for a capable amp of producing that well loved effect, I doubt if you will find finer.
There are not many of these wonderful amps out there at the moment and I think you will find this is probably the best and most original you will see.
