Fylde Ariel Custom (recent) Cedar & Sapele, 12 fret Parlor, Case, Mint
This is a custom Fylde Ariel, made for Philippe, when he turned 45, so it's a recent year Fylde Ariel, and it shows- since it's mint condition, the Fylde Ariel is the smallest guitar in Fylde's product range, close to what many would refer to as a "parlour" size guitar, but it's a bit bigger, compared to a Martin size guitar its '00' size with a bit deeper body, with the neck join at the twelfth fret and the bridge in the centre of the largest part of the soundboard, this is very efficient in terms of converting string vibration into sound, giving a sweet tone with a very strong attack. The slotted head design saves a lot in weight , and the guitars small size enables Fylde to build the body itself lightly, both of which contribute to a surprisingly loud and responsive instrument. Honduras Mahogany body (custom), Western Red Cedar top, Honduras Mahogany neck with slotted headstock, Ebony fingerboard and bridge, gold plated Gotoh, side mounted, tuners, Rosewood bindings with black/white purflings on front, installed in this guitar is a Headway pickup and included in the sale is the original Hiscox case. Don't underestimate the modest looks - these are exceptional sounding guitars.
