Gibson / 1960 Les Paul Special Double Cut Reissue / 2021 / Original TV Yellow / Guitar
We have here a really stunning 2021 Gibson Les Paul Special double cut 1960 reissue in TV Yellow.
Heralding from Gibson's Custom Shop, this is a very faithful reissue of a 1960 double cut special, and we really do have to say that they've done an excellent job.
The build quality is fantastic and it's very reminiscent of some of the original double cut specials that we've been lucky enough to handle.
The guitar comes with it’s original hardshell case, and all the original paperwork / case candy.
The neck is a very comfortable slim taper ‘60 profile, while the custom soapbar P90’s make for a truly great sounding instrument. Throw in the fact this is very lightweight and you’ve got a potential go to guitar for most situations…
Here’s what Gibson have to say:
Extra-Special Edition
Gibson Custom Shop is the pinnacle of craftsmanship, quality, and sound excellence. Each instrument celebrates Gibson's legacy through accuracy, authenticity and attention to detail.
The Les Paul Junior and Special were revised in 1958 to have double cutaways and more fingerboard access, but the Special didn't really hit its groove until 1960, when the lower pickup placement and slim neck taper made it more robust and easier to play than ever. Custom Shop has proudly replicated the Cherry Red and TV Yellow originals in intricate detail with these 1960 Les Paul Special Double Cut Reissues. They are complete structural and visual clones of the coveted vintage counterparts, but the real magic is in their identical sound and playability. A pair of mean, fiery P-90s create tones ranging from sparkling cleans to crunchy distortion. Anything you throw at it, this Les Paul can handle!
