Some of the guitars we buy come with little or no history. We don't know if they've been around the world on tour or how many times they've passed hands, but in the case of this particular Goldtop, we have the full skinny from the beginning to now. It was purchased new on June 22, 1985 at the Music Mart in Smyrna, Ga. for the princely sum of $827.00. The new owner took possession that day and has lovingly cared for her for the past 28 years until yesterday, when he made the decision to pass her on to us. Simply put, it's a one- owner, local guitar that has found it's way to the famed "Elkcave (most of the good ones around Atlanta do) and we are proud to present it here for your perusal. The guitar has been well taken care of and shows very little signs of being played over the years. There's a slight amount of fretwear on the first few frets, but the neck is straight, with no dead spots or buzzing. The fretboard is gorgeously dark and offsets the Antique Gold color nicely. In speaking with the previous owner, we learned that the 30th Anniversary Les Paul was the first guitar to be actively and publicly endorsed by Les Paul since his split with Gibson in 1961. In our eyes, that makes this a very special guitar indeed!
