Gibson / Custom Collector's Choice #39 '59 Les Paul Minnesota / 2016 / 'Minnesota' Burst / Guitar For Sale
The Gibson Collector's Choice #39 1959 Les Paul, known as the "Minnesota Burst," is a remarkable tribute to a classic attic find discovered in a Minnesota shop. This exceptionally well-preserved '59 Burst eventually became part of the private collection of Andrew Raymond, making waves in the burst collector scene due to its immaculate condition, striking flame top, and original paintwork. Bearing the serial number 9-1105, it is celebrated as one of the best-preserved 1959 bursts. An article from 2016 about the process of copying the guitar can be found here https://guitar.com/reviews/gibson-minnesota/
For the Collector's Choice #39 Les Paul, Gibson uses only the highest quality maple wood to replicate the unique high-contrast and low flame pattern of the original. This guitar embodies the commitment of the Gibson Custom Shop in Nashville to historical accuracy, meticulously recreating the original with classic late-1950s production techniques. It features historically correct hardware and plastic parts, including butyrate potentiometer knobs and a multi-layer acrylic pickguard. The long neck tenon and broadly flamed maple top are joined using traditional hot hide glue, ensuring exceptional resonance.
Equipped with vintage-matched pickups, this model delivers the distinctive dark and warm tone of the original 9-1105. It sports a burst bucker at the neck and a custom bucker at the bridge, creating an "off-balance setup" that produces a vocal sound with well-defined highs and a classic 'woman tone' in the lower ranges. Authentic pickup covers with traditional radius and shaping enhance the CC #39's vintage appeal.
The Gibson CC #39 Andrew Raymond Les Paul includes an Aged Lifton Style Case and a Certificate of Authenticity, underscoring its collectability and prestige.
