Gibson Custom Shop / 50th Ann. Korina Explorer ** ON HOLD ** / 2008 / Korina / Guitar

I just can't help myself. Ray says to me all the time, "Hey man, are you even gonna mention the guitar in the ad?" I just shake my head because you see, I am not a big fan of talking about the specs or how many windings are in the pickup bobbins.  I could care less if the spacing between the bridge and tailpiece is precisely the right distance as it just left the factory in 1958. Can you imagine if Kieth Richards said to Mick, "Hey bloke, I just can't play that guitar. I don't think it has the right color of holly veneer on the headstock." Hell no, Keith would say it's only rock-n-roll but I like it and that's exactly my point: We need to get back to the grass roots of rock. That's where you plug a guitar into a Marshall, sling your head back with defiance and pay homage to those who came before us. Where did we go wrong and when did we start caring more about the details of the instrument than what it really represents? This Explorer represents the modern age, when our fathers dreamed. It  embodies that spirit of endeavor and that spirit is what I'm addressing. Are we guitarists or engineers? You can buy this guitar and hang it on the wall like a Mona Lisa with a mustache or you can summon the beast from within and just "be". That is what is sorely missed in this present day. Truth and saying what you mean instead of hiding behind velvet words, the kind of words that are easy to the ears but without a shred of truth. I'm gonna tell you, if you've dealt with us before, you know we sell the best in all the land. All of our guitars are clean, straight with NO excuses. It's not bragging if you can back it up, so give us a jingle and find out for yourself. In closing, I'm listening to Judas Priest as I type this and they make me a little nostalgic. When I think of my youth, I get rebellious. Back then you just said it, that's what I'm doing now..
