A millimeter-accurate reproduction of the original ES-335 from the late 1950s, it was made in the Murphy Lab department. For 25 years, Tom Murphy has practiced reproducing the appearance and temperament of vintage guitars. Based on this expertise, Gibson has collaborated with the master luthier to invent a new varnish formula that perfectly imitates the imperfections typical of nitrocellulose from the 1950s/60s, and to develop special manufacturing techniques. Each craftsman working at Murphy Lab has been personally trained by Tom Murphy to become an expert in the aging process.
