Gibson Custom Shop / Zakk Wylde Les Paul ** ON HOLD ** / 2001 / Bullseye / Guitar

I can relate to the hoards of fans that like Zakk, his music, and the mighty Black Label Society. Heck, it's like being a part of a huge, Heavy Metal family where one member can see the back of your vest and you immediately have something in common. A Brotherhood, if you will and having known about these Bullseye Les Pauls for a while now, I could see wanting to make one a part of my Zakk collection. So, you finally find the one you want and you take the dive. They're around 3 grand +, so it's a chunk of change that's going out and you're all fired- up, waiting for it to arrive. As the day comes and you see the box being taken off the truck, you wring your hands in excitement because you know that in a few minutes, you'll be plugged into that Marshall and wailing away on your best Ozzy or BLS tune. You get the box in the house and start unwrapping it like a Christmas present, feeling like Ralphie opening that Red Ryder BB Gun in "A Christmas Story". You lay the case out, open it up and, putting your hands to the sides of your head, scream "NOOOOOOOOOOOO"! As if in the world's end, the Zakk Les Paul in front of you is lying there, in brand new condition. It's white and black, shiny and perfect and unplayed by human hands. It's so beautiful, you don't even want to pull it out of the case for fear that you might put a fingerprint on it. Gone are your dreams of strapping it on, low and with attitude and cranking out "Facing Hell". Gone are your desires of finishing a set and leaning the guitar against your stack at the end of the last song, still dialed out to 10 and feeding back. No, that guitar is so perfect and pristine, all you can hope to do is place it is a glass showcase for your friends to see, saying with mild amusement, "Oh my. What a nice  guitar".

Wake up from that nightmare because what you are seeing is the answer to your prayers. This Metal beast is not perfect nor is it pristine. It bears the scars of an owner that was not afraid to use it for what it was intended: to make some damn fine and loud noise. As always, it will arrive with a new set of strings, set up and ready to move some furniture. That's it, 'Elks- we provide the best of the best for the best in all arenas and for all people. You just have to ease over into 'Elkland to get that which you seek...
