This is a rare 2nd year produced 1963 Gibson Dove in a factory Natural finish one of Gibson’s top line models. Its original Natural finished Spruce top is lovely showing just enough patina. Its stunning see-thru Cherry Red stained back & sides have some wonderfully figured Maple that will blow your mind. Its wide 1 11/16″ 1 piece mahogany neck is a Fatty as big as they made them usually found on a rare 335 or SG, but certainly rare as hell on an early Dove. They also came w/a nice bound rosewood fingerboard w/double parallelograms & is straight as an arrow w/very little fret wear. Its got tons of B & W bindings on every edge. Its original Dove engraved truss rod cover & orange label are still intact. It’s sporting an original set of rare nickel plated Grover “waffle back” tuners. Its cool “Dove” inlaid pointy tortoise’gard is near mint w/no aging at all. It also has a clean nickel plated factory ABR-1 bridge w/nylon saddles making it 100% original showing little aging. Other than 1 tiny crackle on its far right top lower bout, its completely crack free w/some play time & weather checking here & there. It’s an exceptionally clean all original example ready for its next caretaker. It comes in its rare factory black tolex/yellow lined hard case.
