If there is anything to be said about these great, vintage EB-2s, it's they are so easy to play. The narrow neck allows for speedy runs and the lower register of the neck is comfortable and friendly to the left hand when you have to hold down the bottom for that 20 minute guitar solo that always comes in the 3rd set. The tone is warm, punchy and breaks up nicely when you dig in a little, so you can still be heard through that wall of Marshalls and shine when it's your time! Clean and original examples of these late- 60's Gibson basses are becoming scarce and it's hard to believe that this bass is 45 years old. We strung it up with a nice new set of roundwounds and it came alive, as these strings really let the bass show off it's tone. The original case is also in excellent condition and the package includes the original tags, which are always a bonus when looking at a vintage piece from a collector's perspective. I put this bass through it's paces with our little Ampeg SB-12 and you just could not ask for a better vintage sound. It makes you want to sit and play Zeppelin riffs all day. It's that nice of a bass and we're finally fattening up our list of basses for sale, so I couldn't be happier and look forward to featuring more cool and clean basses in the coming weeks.
