Gibson / EB0 Bass / 1968 / Bass

Crafted from solid mahogany, the EB-0 features a double-cutaway body design, providing easy access to the upper frets. The rich, red gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finish highlights the natural beauty of the mahogany, while the 3-ply black pickguard adds a touch of classic elegance. The neck, also made from mahogany, sports a round C profile that offers a comfortable grip. With a nut width of 37.9 mm (1.49") and a short 30.3" scale length, this bass is both compact and easy to play, making it ideal for players who prefer a shorter scale. The rosewood fingerboard is adorned with mother-of-pearl dot inlays, adding a subtle yet sophisticated touch. The neck thickness ranges from 22.9 mm (0.9") at the first fret to 26.0 mm (1.02") at the twelfth fret, providing a sturdy feel without being overly chunky. At the heart of the EB-0's sound is the original Gibson Mudbucker pickup, known for its deep, rich, and warm tones. The straightforward control layout consists of a single volume and tone knob, allowing for easy tonal adjustments. The bass also features its original top loader bridge with nylon saddles and a mute system. While the mute mechanism is still functional, the foam piece that actually mutes the strings is missing—a minor issue that can be easily addressed if desired. Weighing in at 3.2 kg, this bass is relatively light, making it comfortable for long playing sessions. Although it travels in a non-original hardshell case, it comes with a TFOA Passport and Hangtag, adding an extra layer of authenticity and value. This 1968 Gibson EB-0 Bass is a true piece of history, offering the distinctive sound and feel that made it a favorite among bassists of its era. Whether you're a collector or a player, this instrument is a fantastic addition to any bass collection.

ABOUT US

I have always been opposed to being trapped into a job eight hours a day to purchase the free time to do what I enjoy. That’s why i started the Fellowship of Acoustics. The fellowship of acoustics was founded by Rudi Bults, Guitarist and obsessed with tone and wood. The idea was offering real expertise when trading and selling the finest instruments in the world from our showroom in Bergentheim, Netherlands. Helping others find the right tools and enjoying an atmosphere that’s unhurried, honest and informative that’s my go. We are nothing like the "supermarket" style music stores, but specialize in string-things only. We are widely known for Flattop guitars but also sell electric, mandolins & banjo’s, amps, parts, and accessories. Our store has earned the reputation for being a great place to shop for the best products and service.
It is our hope that this new website - much more than a list of "gear" for sale - will serve as an example of our commitment to offering a more personal approach, a friendly atmosphere, and an ultimately more satisfying experience for our friends and customers.
If you have any questions just dial +31-523-232205 or e-mail info@thefellowshipofacoustics.com My name is Rudi Bults, and I’m always here to help out. Wherever possible, we would recommend that you visit our store and experience our instruments and service first hand. However, because of our high standards you can be confident of ordering online from us. We hope you enjoy your visit to our site, and welcome your feedback.
