Gibson / ES-140 3/4 / 1951 / Sunburst Finish / Guitar

This is a really cool & rare very early production ES-140 3/4, literally a 3/4 sized ES-175 w/a rich patinated Dark Sunburst finish over a maple top & back w/walnut stained side panels. Its cool 1 piece mahogany neck feels fabulous. Its got an unbound Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard w/pearl dot inlays. You get a killer variety of jazz tones thru its 1 original P-90 pickup like Jim Hall & Joe Pass. She is missing her original tuners (now wearing 50’s open back tuners), its pickgard & its gold knobs. The rest of its hardware is clean from its wooden bridge to its cool trapeze tailpiece. It came with no white oval label as it was a budget line model. She’s ink stamped w/a “w” date code for c.1951.  She’s got killer sustain & tone qualities. She’s excellent overall & a mostly original example & she comes w/its ultra rare Gibson Brown tolex soft case.
