Gibson / ES-175D / 1960 / Sunburst / Guitar
This is a nice example of an early 1960 Gibson ES-175D with a late 70’s ES-175 case including 2 x lovely long magnet unmolested PAF’s Patent Applied For pickups this one is reasonably priced because the the tuners have been changed to later Gibson types and the tailpiece is a more modern replacement but it is still nickel. It has wear but is still a very nice instrument that plays well and sounds well, just about as good as you would expect from a twin PAF equipped 175!
Please have a good look at the photos you will see for yourself the good but used condition this guitar is in. There are a few marks here and the usual vintage checking you would expect to se and some wear on the back of the neck and by the heel.
This is a very early 1960 ES-175 as it still has the 1959 style bonnet knobs and the neck is not super skinny like you see on later 1960 Gibsons. Plus of course it still has the original long magnet PAF’s which are identical to the 1959’s and have are un-molested and undisturbed, never had the nickle covers removed.
Included is a nice, original ES-175D red black hardshell case from the late 70’s that does have a few marks on the outside but is still great condition.
If you do want to play it I can assure you it will not disappoint. It has a nice low action with plenty of life left on the frets.
All pickups are great and evenly balanced, nut width is the desirable 43mm. Serial number: A 33293
