Gibson / ES-330 TDN Natural / 1964 / Blonde / Guitar

This was bought from new by Ray Ennis, guitarist with the Screaming Blue Jeans and extensively giiged by him throughout the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s and 90’s. It includes a Selmer ES series hard case that would have been correct for this guitar as Selmer was the UK Gibson distributer at the time and supplied Gibson (and Fender) guitars with their own cases.

This is an original 1964 Gibson ES-330 TDN + original Selmer ES series case that was made in 1964 and has some good honest playing wear but is all original apart from an old, very good, repro pickguard and looks as if it has had a refret (probably a few!)

Please have a good look at the photos you will see for yourself the cool, road worn condition this guitar is in. Pictures will describe it better than words can but as you can see there is a fair bit of buckle rash on the back plus various dings all over and the usual checking. There are 2 extra strap button screw holes filled on the neck heel but no breaks or repairs anywhere. 2x original nickle plated P-90’s are both superb and strong and guitar does sound killer with a lot of character...

Case is in poor condition, obviously well used but only just about holding together. I wouldn’t want to take this guitar out gigging with this case!
EXTREMELY rare model too - you occasionally see some natural ES-330’s from 1959 or 1960 but not so often a 1964, in fact I think this is the very first 1964 natural ES-330 TDN I have seen.

If you do want to play it I can assure you it will not disappoint. It has a nice action and both original P-90’s are evenly balanced with exceptional clarity and bite. Neck profile is medium, typical early 64 before they got fatter later on in 64 and 65. All hardware is original with the exception of the pick guard and a couple of the tuners have bent shafts but all work just fine. Two of the tuner bushings have been replaced too as these often fall out fairly easily.

Grab this while you can... I bet you will not see another for some time.
