This is a very early & quite rare version of Gibson’s new ES-330TD which was their new Thin Hollow Body guitar. Its introduction year was 1958 & was offered in a Tobacco’burst. Its 2 black P-90 pickups are sensational & have balls to the walls clarity in which so many recordings were made. Its dot inlaid bound rosewood neck is super wide & medium in depth like a killer period 335. She still sports her original Black Laminated’gard that finish her off so well. From its plastic button Kluson tuners to its trapeze tailpiece to its rare gold knobs, she’s 100% original. What makes this one so rare & desirable is that its a Pre-Serial #’d 330 made prior to mid-1960 when Gibson started stamping its headstocks on every guitar from that time on. She’s got an “S” date code for 1959 & is the earliest example produced we have ever come across in this stellar shape. Other than an early 60’s ABR-1 Tun-a-Matic bridge, she’s 100% original & absolutely near mint, comes in its original Brown Tolex/Pink Lined hard case.
