For the last few years, we've primarily featured newer collectible, limited edition and Custom Shop guitars. We did this as a move away from vintage gear in the year of our Lord, 2008 when the world officially came to an end. Five years later, things seem to have stabilized and as Lee and I were talking the other day, we realized that no matter what happens around us, vintage guitars (and I mean clean vintage guitars) never lose their luster, dull their taste or go out of style. They just remain as beautiful as the day they were created and the colors, tones and patinas of the 50s and 60s are still the best ever. As to this ES-330, it's one of the very special pieces that have inhabited the 'Elk vault for a good minute and back when it was purchased, it was done so for one thing: it has the earlier features and a neck like a '59 model. The first time Lee pulled it out of the case, the first thing out of his mouth was, "This neck feels like a '59" and that was that. Not only is it gorgeous cosmetically, the twin P- 90s are among the creamiest we've ever heard. Must be because they're old...Please keep an eye on us in the coming weeks as we begin the transition back to a larger representation of vintage gear exactly like this one: clean, straight and no excuses.
