Gibson / ES-335 12 String / 1968 / Cherry Red / Guitar
This is a VERY NICE vintage original 1968 Gibson ES-335 12 string finished in desirable cherry red and with nice hard case that is as far as I can tell 100% original and is a great instrument if you are looking for a nice jangly 12 string..
It has also one of the coolest serial numbers I have seen - 500001 which is 1968, pots I can read date to late 1967.
Everything is all original including the wonderful pickups and all electrics and the black rings around the pickups and jack (goof hiders). It plays beautifully, sounds like jangle, chimey cream and has a very nice, playable, fast action.
There are no breaks or repairs anywhere and all finish is original too. This was originally a factory 2nd which meant it has some kind of finish blemish somewhere that would have probably been very difficult to see in 1968 and now, 47 years later, it is impossible to find.
It has been played but not too heavily, there are a few dings here and there but nothing serious. There is no fret wear on the original frets and no fingerboard wear either.
Case is also in good condition and is fully functioning. A very nice guitar at a very reasonable price for a 1968. You ould even convert it to a 6 string if you feel so inclined.
